The Buffalo Bills had an impressive playoff run in 2024, which ultimately ended with a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. One of the team’s ongoing concerns has been the absence of a clear No. 1 wide receiver.
While Khalil Shakir has proven to be a reliable option, he hasn’t quite filled that top receiver role.
Keon Coleman has shown potential and adds depth, and Joshua Palmer—acquired to help replace the departed Amari Cooper—also seems better suited as a supporting piece rather than a lead receiver.
One name that’s emerged as a possible trade target is Denver Broncos veteran Courtland Sutton.
NFL analyst Anthony Palacios from Last Word on Sports suggested that the Bills could be a good fit if Sutton becomes available.
Palacios noted that with the departure of Mack Hollins to the Patriots and no current talks to re-sign Cooper, Buffalo may look to trade for a top receiver this offseason.
He added that Sutton could thrive with Josh Allen, one of the league’s premier quarterbacks.
Sutton is in the final year of his four-year, $60 million deal and has been the subject of trade speculation since last season, particularly as he seeks a contract extension.
Recently, Sutton hinted at some optimism about staying in Denver.
