Bears guard Joe Thuney isn’t the loud, vocal leader type—he leads more through his actions than his words.
Still, a remark he made at the start of his Wednesday post-practice press conference during OTAs spoke volumes about new head coach Ben Johnson and the early tone of his tenure.
When asked what drew him to sign with the Bears, Thuney said:
“Everything, really—the players, the coaches, the whole management. It’s been great to be a part of this team. Obviously, it’s still early, but the attention to detail, the focus, the passion from everyone—the players, coaches, staff—it really feels like everyone’s moving in the same direction. Everyone’s committed to working hard and getting better.”
