This year’s AdventHealth 400 has big shoes to fill after last spring’s race at Kansas Speedway, which featured the closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history between Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports and Chris Buescher of RFK Racing.
In a twist of fate, Larson secured the pole position for Sunday’s 267-lap event on the 1.5-mile, four-turn oval in Kansas City, Kansas during Saturday’s qualifying, with Buescher lining up right next to him on the front row.
AdventHealth 400 Recap: Kansas Speedway NASCAR Cup Series
The 12th race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, the AdventHealth 400, returned to Kansas Speedway—a track that delivered a historic finish last spring, when Kyle Larson narrowly edged out Chris Buescher in the closest finish in Cup Series history.
Ironically, both drivers started this year’s race on the front row again, with Larson securing pole position and Buescher lining up beside him after Saturday’s qualifying on the 1.5-mile, four-turn oval in Kansas City, Kansas.
Although no driver starting from the front row has won at Kansas in the last six races, Larson was the last to break that trend back in October 2021, when he won from pole.
