Julio Jones has officially announced his retirement from the NFL after a legendary 13-season career. The announcement came on April 5, 2025, and he made it especially meaningful by doing it on “404 Day,” a nod to Atlanta’s area code, as a tribute to the city where he spent the bulk of his career.
Jones, 36, leaves the game as the Atlanta Falcons’ all-time leader in receptions (848) and receiving yards (12,896), and second in touchdowns (60). After 10 dominant seasons with the Falcons, he had short stints with the Titans, Buccaneers, and Eagles, last playing in 2023. He didn’t appear in any games during the 2024 season.
In his heartfelt statement, he thanked his family, his fans, and the cities and teams that were part of his journey. With 914 receptions, 13,703 yards, and 66 touchdowns, his career certainly cements him as a future Hall of Famer
